“The essence of the human soul cannot be separated from the wildness of nature. This is why an adequate psychology must be an eco-depth psychology. It’s no surprise, even in the contemporary world, that profound encounters with soul often occur during solitary wilderness sojourns.... For inspiration and vision, we, too, must learn to search outside the customary world of the village, to wander again in the inner and outer wilderness.”
Bill Plotkin in Soulcraft

Rites-of-passage play an integral part in the psychological and spiritual maturity of a human being. By marking the tiers of our evolutionary journey, we are better able to connect to our inner life and personal destiny.  I have been guiding wilderness rites of passage with adolescents and adults since 1994 and trained with Animas Valley Institute as a vision quest guide.  My study and practice of primitive skills has taken me from the Yup’ik regions of Alaska to the deserts of Utah.

My husband Peter and I lead local wilderness vision quests which focus on the soul initiation and transformation.  We believe that in the wilderness, void of distractions, we are restored to our more natural state and better able to access our wholeness.  Our quests are modern, soul-based rites of passage that incorporate the techniques of council, mirroring, drumming and rattling, ceremony, and somatic awareness on the land.  We offer small group quests and individualized quests.

We offer rite-of-passage based sweatlodge ceremonies to mark significant life passages.
